At WWDC 2024, Apple introduced macOS Sequoia, the latest iteration of its desktop operating system, which will succeed macOS Sonoma.
The new iOS version, available on eligible Mac models later this year, includes several innovative features, such as iPhone Mirroring and a universal Password app compatible with both Apple and Windows devices.
macOS Sequoia enhances connectivity between devices with the iPhone Mirroring feature, enabling users to view and interact directly with their iPhone’s display on their Mac screen.
The functionality remains active even when the iPhone is locked or physically distant from the Mac. Additionally, iPhone notifications will appear on the Mac, allowing users to respond directly without needing to access their phone.
Further integrating its ecosystem, Apple has developed a dedicated Passwords app that ensures seamless password management across Apple and Windows platforms, enhancing security and user convenience.
Moreover, Apple is upgrading its Safari browser to utilize machine learning technology to summarise web pages and simplify user information consumption. These features, among others, are part of Apple’s broader effort to create a more integrated and user-friendly experience across its device lineup with the rollout of macOS Sequoia later in the year.
