Punjab’s interim Chief Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, declared a public holiday in Lahore on September 7 (Thursday) to commemorate the annual Urs of Data Ganj Bakhsh Syed Ali Hajwari (RA).
During a visit to Data Darbar, Chief Minister Naqvi disclosed that the three-day Urs ceremony will kick off on Tuesday.
The festivities, spanning from Tuesday to Thursday, are being enhanced to facilitate a grand celebration, mentioned the chief minister.
To cater to all attendees, a meeting with the commissioner regarding the langar khana (community kitchen) was conducted, stated Naqvi. Moreover, provisions are being made for mehfil-e-samaa, featuring performances by renowned qawwals.
Naqvi emphasized that top-notch arrangements for the Chehlum, processions, and Urs are a priority.
Addressing the anticipated traffic, Naqvi assured that a strategy is in place to ensure proper parking facilities, contingent upon security clearance.
Furthermore, the chief minister revealed imminent plans to expand Data Darbar, including widening the area surrounding the mosques and shrines.
