The Anti Narcotic Forces (ANF) during an operation at the Allama Iqbal airport, Lahore. During this operation, a staggering 214 drug capsules were retrieved from a passenger’s stomach.
ANF’s operation highlights the audacity of the smuggling attempt but also the commendable efficiency of the ANF in identifying such threats.
Recent Seizures at the Airport
Further showcasing their dedication to combat drug trafficking, the ANF, during the same operation, detained another passenger. The individual had concealed over 2 kilograms of a drug, commonly referred to as “ice”, in his trolley bag. The official spokesperson for the ANF confirmed the arrest of the involved parties and assured them that they had been charged under the appropriate drug trafficking sections.
Previous Operations and Accomplishments
Last month, the ANF achieved another significant victory against drug traffickers. They thwarted an attempt to smuggle drugs internationally from a container terminal. A considerable consignment of hashish was disguised as a shipment of vegetables and fruits. The ANF, acting on intel, raided the Pakistan International Container Terminal (PICT) and unearthed over three maunds of hashish from a container destined for Doha, Qatar. The smugglers had cleverly hidden the hashish amidst layers of onions in a container booked by a Karachi-based private company. With the narcotics in their custody, the ANF has launched an investigation to nab all those involved in this illicit endeavour.
