The former top MQM leader Anees Qaimkhani on Friday said his group was all set to take more “wickets” soon.
Addressing a press conference, he, however, said calling a press conference doesn’t necessarily mean that “we are going to announce fall of wickets”.
Qaimkhani and Mustafa Kamal have been using cricket analogy to describe further defections in Muttahida Qaumi Movement since their arrival.
“We can take more wickets between Monday and Thursday too,” he said while responding to a question. The dissident group has held its press conferences on Thursdays to announce joining of MQM defectors in their unnamed party but it failed to address a presser which they cancelled it after changing time and venue yesterday.
He said name of new party would be announced on March 22 while a rally would be held in mid April.”We will discuss issues of public interest besides taking wickets,” he said, adding that they would travel to Hyderabad next week and an office has been rented in the city.
He also invited Sindhi speaking people of the province to join the new party. Responding to another question whether Sindh Governor Ishratul Ebad Khan was backing the dissident group of MQM, he said: “Had this been the case, the governor would have been around us”
