Ali Zafar, the esteemed Pakistani singer, is poised for a significant comeback as the voice behind the official anthem for the ninth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
This announcement follows recent speculation from Cricket Pakistan about Zafar’s potential involvement, which has now been officially confirmed by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
A New Chapter Begins
The reveal occurred on the social media platform ‘X’ (previously Twitter), where the PSL franchise league unveiled a video of Zafar performing a melody from his past anthem, “Ab Khel Jamay Ga.” Accompanying this video was a caption signalling the countdown to the anthem’s release, highlighting Zafar’s role in bringing his unique magic to the forthcoming HBL PSL anthem for 2024.
After dazzling fans with his musical prowess during the first three PSL seasons, Zafar’s career experienced a pause in 2018 due to allegations of harassment by fellow singer Meesha Shafi. This controversy led to a temporary departure from his role in the PSL anthems. Nevertheless, with the ninth season set to commence on February 17, Zafar is ready to step back into the limelight.
