Ali Haider Gilani, son of former prime minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, has been recovered after a successful operation in Afghanistan.
In a twitter message, Chairman Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has confirmed recovery of Ali Gilani.
Bilawal tweets, “Yousuf Raza Gilani has received a call from Afghan Ambassador to Pakistan and informed him about the recovery of Haider Gilani.”
Pakistan foreign office has also confirmed recovery of Ali Gilani.
The Afghan National Security Adviser, Mohammad Hanif Atmar, in a telephone call to the Adviser to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs, Sartaj Aziz, informed that Ali Haider Gilani has been recovered earlier today in a joint operation carried out by the Afghan and US security forces in Ghazni.
Ali Haider Gilani’s transfer to Pakistan is being arranged following required medical check-up.
Meanwhile, sources said Ali Gilani would be shifted to Afghan capital Kabul from Ghazni where he would be handed over to Pakistani authorities.
Ali Gilani was abducted on May 09 in 2013 from Multan.
