Aleema Khan, sister of PTI founder Imran Khan, spoke to the media outside the Anti-Terrorism Court in Lahore. She secured bail for her son, Shahrez Khan, in a case linked to the May 9, 2023, riots. She also spoke about PTI matters, including denying Sher Afzal Marwat’s links to the party.
Aleema said Marwat has no connection with PTI because Imran Khan expelled him. She said there was no point in replying to Marwat’s comments and suggested he join another party.
She confirmed that Imran Khan, who is in jail, is healthy and dismissed rumours on social media. Aleema asked that his medical checkups include his personal doctors to ensure fairness. Her sister Uzma Khan, who is a doctor, also confirmed Imran’s good health. Aleema urged the media and social media users to verify facts before sharing news.

Aleema said Imran’s sentence is illegal and called for the release of other political prisoners. She said, “If my son can get bail, others should too.” She mentioned that only PTI chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan is allowed to see Imran, showing limited access.
Aleema denied rumours of a dispute with Salman Akram Raja, PTI’s legal counsel. She said, “There’s no problem with Salman. He is our lawyer and like family.” Raja recently resigned as PTI Secretary General, but Aleema said it was a personal decision, not a sign of party division.
Her statements aim to unite PTI supporters, combat misinformation, and seek justice during legal and political challenges. She made clear that Marwat is not part of PTI and reassured supporters about Imran’s health.
