Hamptons, New York: Actor Alec Baldwin escaped without injury after crashing his Range Rover head-on into a tree while driving along Montauk Highway in the Hamptons.
According to a report released by the East Hampton Police Department, Baldwin was driving behind a National Waste Services garbage truck when the incident occurred. His brother, Stephen Baldwin, was also in the car at the time.
The police report stated that Baldwin took evasive action after being intercepted by the garbage truck. Believing the truck was turning left, he swerved right — only to find the vehicle turning in the same direction.

As a result, Baldwin’s car collided with a nearby tree. No other vehicles were involved, and there were no reported injuries. Police Chief Michael Sarlo told TMZ that slippery road conditions contributed to the crash.
“No injuries were reported, and no citations were issued. The crash was caused by evasive maneuvering and wet road conditions,” said Sarlo.
Baldwin later shared his version of events on Instagram, describing how he tried to avoid hitting the truck.
“A guy cut me off — a huge garbage truck. To avoid it, I hit a big tree and wrecked my wife’s car,” he said. “I feel bad about that, but everything is fine. My brother and I are both OK.”
His wife, Hilaria Baldwin, also took to Instagram to thank fans for their concern and to confirm that her husband was safe.
“He’s OK, everyone’s OK, and nobody got hurt. That’s the most important thing. Thank you for caring,” she shared.
The Alec Baldwin Hamptons car crash comes just months after the actor resumed public appearances amid renewed legal proceedings related to the Rust film set incident. Authorities have confirmed the case is closed with no further investigation required.
