After leaving Manchester United, Ronaldo signed a $ 200 million-a-year contract with Al-Nassr.

Al-Nassr emphatically denies that Cristiano Ronaldo is being paid to promote Saudi Arabia’s 2030 World Cup and join Lionel Messi as an ambassador.

France reported that Ronaldo’s agreement to join Al-Nassr as football’s highest-paid player included doubling his compensation for supporting Saudi Arabia’s ambition to host the World Cup in seven years.

The arrangement would pay Ronaldo $ 1.2 million a day at $ 200 million- annually. He and Messi would also promote Saudi Arabia’s candidature together.

Al-Nassr denies any World Cup provision in Ronaldo’s contract.

Statement: “Contrary to rumours, Al Nassr FC’s contract with Cristiano Ronaldo does not include World Cup bids. He focuses on Al Nassr and helping his teammates win.”

Qatar hosted the 2022 World Cup for the first time after being criticized for their 2010 vote. Saudi Arabia hopes a joint plan with Egypt and Greece will duplicate Qatar’s success.

FIFA has never held the World Cup on three continents at once. Next year’s 74th FIFA Congress will announce the 2030 World Cup hosts.

The UK and Ireland had originally planned a joint bid to host the 2030 World Cup, but that has since been abandoned due to their hopes of securing the 2028 European Championships. Their only competition to host the tournament comes from Turkey after Russia had their bid rejected by UEFA.
