Member of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Chaudhry Muhammad Ishaq and seven others drowned after their car fell into a drain near Sakakas area of Nakyal on Sunday.
According to local administration, MLA Ishaq along with seven others were travelling from Khoi Ratta sector to Nakyal when the vehicle fall into drain due to heavy downpour.
Local administration officials and soldiers of the Pakistan Army took part in the rescue operation to recover the eight bodies.
The other deceased include two brothers and three nephews of MLA Ishaq.
