Aizaz Syed reveals that the cases of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan will be expedited in the coming days, but a new case is also emerging against him.
Senior journalist and analyst Aizaz Syed, speaking on Geo News’ program “Report Card,” highlighted the escalating tension between the establishment and the judiciary, with new developments surfacing daily. He revealed that cameras were found in the bedroom of a judge of the Islamabad High Court, and a judge’s brother-in-law was kidnapped. As an institution, this has led the judiciary to feel insecure and resist the government and the establishment.
Syed noted that Faisal Vawda’s recent press conference, where he mentioned two Supreme Court judges by name, amounted to threatening the higher judiciary. Vawda, who claims not to belong to any political party despite being supported by all parties, speaks the language of the establishment and does not shy away from calling himself their representative.
Aizaz Syed further elaborated that an establishment representative threatens the judiciary in this conflict. Imran Khan’s bail hearing was scheduled on the same day, resulting in his release and press conferences with PML-N members, which led the judiciary on one side and the government and security establishment on the other.
The judiciary will try to expedite cases in the coming month, while the establishment wants PTI’s founder to remain in jail longer. A new NAB case against Imran Khan, related to the Toshakhana, has been prepared and will be filed soon.
According to Aizaz Syed, the judiciary resists the establishment’s intentions. His sources indicate that a new case related to the Toshakhana has been prepared against Imran Khan, and he was questioned about it on April 21. Given the judiciary’s swift action, this case will be filed soon.
