Former NFL running back Adrian Peterson was arrested on Sunday in Texas. He faces charges of driving while intoxicated (DWI) and unlawfully carrying a weapon.
The arrest occurred in Sugar Land, Texas, around 10 a.m. This is the latest in a series of legal issues for the 39-year-old retired football star.
According to local booking records, Peterson was charged with two counts of DWI and one weapon charge. Authorities have not yet released specific details about the traffic stop.
This is his second alcohol-related arrest in 2025. In April, he was arrested in Minnesota for DWI after being clocked driving 83 mph in a 55 mph zone. In that incident, his blood alcohol concentration was reportedly nearly twice the legal limit.
