Film actress Nargis, also known as Ghazala Idris, reportedly suffered an assault by her husband, Inspector Majid Bashir, in Lahore’s Defence area.
Police say the couple had a financial dispute that escalated into alleged domestic violence.
After the incident, Nargis visited the police station late at night but did not file a formal complaint. Police have not yet received any formal request for action from her family, including her brother. He claims Inspector Bashir subjects her to daily abuse.
An officer stated, “The police are ready to act upon a formal complaint.”
Nargis married Inspector Bashir several years ago and left the entertainment industry to run her beauty salon. Reports indicate she was severely beaten.
Her brother, Khurram, called emergency services, urging legal action against Inspector Bashir for his routine mistreatment of Nargis.
