Actor and Shiv Sena leader Govinda has been hospitalized following a leg injury sustained at his home. The Mumbai Police, cited by PTI, reported the injury resulted from an accidental discharge of his revolver.
Govinda, aged 60, is under treatment at CritiCare Hospital and is out of danger. His manager has stated that the actor’s condition is stable. The incident occurred at approximately 4:45 am as Govinda prepared for a trip to Kolkata. The police have initiated an investigation and have secured the firearm involved.
Sunita Ahuja, Govinda’s wife, confirmed from Kolkata that the actor is stable and receiving medical care. She is travelling to Mumbai to support him.
Shashi Sinha, Govinda’s manager, told ANI that the mishap happened while Govinda was handling his licensed revolver, which accidentally fell and discharged. The bullet has since been removed, and a full recovery is anticipated.
The police have indicated that no formal complaint has been filed concerning the incident.
