The Achraf Hakimi rape trial is set to move forward as the Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) defender prepares to face court over allegations dating back to 2023.
In a post shared on X on February 24, 2026, Hakimi said he remains calm ahead of the proceedings. “I await this trial calmly, which will allow the truth to come out publicly,” he wrote.
The 27-year-old Moroccan international also stated that he contests the accusation and believes the claims are false. He added that such trials can be unfair to innocent individuals and unjust to genuine victims.
The Achraf Hakimi rape trial stems from a complaint filed by a 24-year-old woman who accused him of rape at his home in a Paris suburb.
Hakimi’s lawyer, Fanny Colin, confirmed that a trial has been ordered. However, she noted that a date has not yet been set and said she intends to appeal the judge’s decision.
Colin argued that the case rests solely on the complainant’s statement. She also claimed that the plaintiff refused medical examinations and DNA testing, declined to provide access to her mobile phone, and did not name a key witness. Hakimi has maintained his innocence throughout the investigation.

Meanwhile, PSG is scheduled to face Monaco. When asked whether the legal proceedings would affect Hakimi’s role in the squad, coach Luis Enrique responded that the matter is in the hands of the justice system. The case remains under judicial review, with further updates expected once a trial date is confirmed.
