Accountability Court on Friday dismissed the petition to open two National Accountability Bureau (NAB) cases against the Sharif family stating that the cases had been filed for political vengeance and had no viable proof.
Justice Anwar Ahmad Khan heard the references of money laundering of Rs 64 million in Hudaibya Paper Mills and possession of illegal assets worth Rs 240 million including the Raiwind Palace against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, Kulsoom Nawaz, Maryam Nawaz, Hussain Nawaz, father Shamim Akhter, Hamza Shahbaz, Abbas Sharif (Late) and sister-in-law Sabiha Abbas.
The court dismissed both the references against the Sharif family. Justice Anwar said that no eye witness has yet been produced before the court and the case has been prolonged for 10 years based on bad faith.
The court rejected the petition of Chairman NAB to open the two cases.
