A lady in the United States is suing Kraft Heinz for $5 million because her microwaveable macaroni and cheese took longer to cook than the recommended time.
Amanda Ramirez from South Florida filed a case in the Miami Division of the US District Court for the Southern District of Florida. In the lawsuit, she said that Kraft Heinz Co. engaged in misleading and unfair business practices.
Ramirez contended that the company violated federal law by stating that it takes 3.5 minutes to produce Velveeta microwavable mac & cheese cups.
According to The Washington Post, she claimed that the corporation engaged in deceptive advertising and spread inaccurate information.
Her complaint said, “Consumers seeing ready in 3.5 minutes will believe it indicates the complete length of time it takes to prepare the Product, from the time it is unopened until it is ready for consumption.”
