At least six police officers, including an assistant sub-inspector, were killed when two terrorists on a motorbike opened fire on their mobile during normal patrolling.
The incident occurred inside the jurisdiction of the Dadiwala Police Station as officers were performing normal patrols near a local fair, according to a police spokeswoman.
ASI Ilm Deen, Detective Foot Constable Ahmed Nawaz, Lower Head Constable Zubair, Frontier Reserve Police’s sepoy Usman Ali, Constable Mahmood Khan, and driver Dil Jan were among the killed police officers.
The district’s police spokeswoman stated that a search operation had begun to apprehend the terrorists.
Murad Ali Shah, the chief minister of Sindh, denounced the attack and expressed his sympathies to the victims’ families.
CM KP Mahmood Khan has assured strengthening the police department in the province, particularly in the remote districts, and approved establishing a counter-terrorism department (CTD).
