In an astonishing coincidence, an extended family from Larkana, Pakistan, shares more than just their last name. In this family of nine, every member, including the parents and their seven children, was born on the same date – August 1st.
Imagine the elation of sharing a birthday with a family member. Now multiply that by nine! This is the reality for the Mangi family, who hold an extraordinary record for the most family members born on the same day. This clan, including parents Ameer Ali Mangi and Khudeja and their seven children Sindhoo, Sasui, Sapna, Aamir, Ambar, Ammar, and Ahmar, celebrate their birthdays all at once, making every August 1st a grand family affair.
This remarkable familial coincidence has earned the Mangi family a place in the Guinness World Records. Ameer and Khudeja, who incidentally got married on their shared birthday in 1991, believe their children’s concurrent birthdays are a “gift from God.” The proud father, Ameer, insists that the children’s shared birthday wasn’t planned but was “all-natural, from Allah.”
Holding Multiple Records
The uniqueness of the Mangi family doesn’t stop there. Their seven children also hold the record for the most siblings born on the same day. This title was previously held by five children from the USA’s Cummins family, all born on February 20th between 1952 and 1966.
Moreover, two sets of twins within the Mangi family, Sasui and Sapna, and Ammar and Ahmar, share the record for the most twin siblings born on the same day.
