A passenger bus crashed into a ditch near the Sehwan toll plaza on the Indus Highway, killing eighteen people and several injured.
According to locals, five passengers were rescued and sent to a local hospital, while further passengers were evacuated and treated at Abdullah Shah Institute of Medical Sciences, Sehwan.
Dr. Moeen Siddiqui reported that two of the injured are in critical condition.
In addition, Dr. Moeen Siddiqui also disclosed that ten of the 18 fatalities were youngsters, four boys and six girls aged 10 to 15 – and eight were women.
However, according to police officials, there were 17 passengers on board, and five were rescued.
The residents claim that the ditch was not filled even two months after the cuttings were placed on the Indus Highway to drain floodwater.
