A man from Baltimore won $50,000 in a Maryland lottery scratch-off at EZ Quick Food Market in Pasadena, crediting his grandmother’s advice for his success.
The winner, who remained unnamed, followed a strategy rooted in his grandmother’s wisdom. “She told me, ‘Not everyone can be lucky every day,'” he explained to Maryland Lottery officials.
Guided by this principle, he devised a plan: purchase two scratch-off tickets whenever he felt lucky. If neither ticket were a winner, he would stop for the day. But if one showed a prize, he would continue playing.
His approach paid off recently when he scratched off a Mega Money ticket at the EZ Quick Food Market on Mountain Road in Pasadena, which resulted in a $50,000 win.
This isn’t the first time the man has struck it lucky; he has won over $150,000 in various lotteries thanks to his grandmother’s guidance. Despite his previous successes, he was surprised by this win. “I’ve won big twice before, but it had been long. I wasn’t sure it would ever happen again,” he admitted.
The Maryland Lottery encourages playing for fun, but for this Baltimore man, his grandmother’s advice and a bit of luck have proven to be a lucrative combination.
