There seems to be a glimmer of hope in the mystery shrouding the assassination of renowned rapper Tupac Shakur, famously known as 2Pac.
The Las Vegas Police Department recently executed a search warrant at a specific dwelling, indicating a renewed effort in their investigation into the infamous 1996 murder that abruptly ended the illustrious career of the rap legend.
Shakur’s death occurred on September 13, 1996, a sorrowful end to a life that had only spanned 25 years. He was fatally wounded near the junction of East Flamingo Road and Koval Lane in Las Vegas.
The case, now nearly 27 years old, still begs for resolution. In a startling revelation, Shakur’s father recently proposed a provocative theory about his son’s death.
Shakur’s Father and Others Propose Government Involvement
Just a month ago, 2Pac’s biological father, Billy Garland, made an intriguing allegation, implicating the U.S. government in killing his son. He suggested Shakur was under government surveillance before his untimely end. In an interview with The Art of Dialogue, Garland reflected on the events leading to his son’s death.
Garland revealed that 2Pac shouldn’t have picked a fight with Orlando Anderson in Las Vegas on the night of his fatal shooting. 2Pac, who Garland described as overly zealous, felt he had to be the dominant figure.
According to Garland, this was amplified because everyone magnified everything 2Pac did. The confrontation initiated by 2Pac with Anderson over a stolen Death Row medallion was a step too far in Garland’s view. This incident, Garland feels, was a heart-wrenching tragedy. But that was 2Pac for you – he was incomparable.
Garland is not the sole believer in the government’s involvement in 2Pac’s death. John Potash, author of The FBI War on Tupac Shakur and Black Leaders, also advocates this theory.
Potash proposes that U.S. Intelligence-funded Death Row Records manipulated 2Pac into promoting negative lyrics. According to Potash, the government felt compelled to silence 2Pac when he decided to distance himself from Death Row and leave the group.
