Today marks 8 years since the tragedy of the Army Public School, Peshawar, which capped a decade of violence and carnage in Pakistan; the heinous terrorist attack on the Army Public School in Peshawar killed about 150 people.

Terrorists attacked Army Public School Peshawar on December 16, 2014, killing at least 149 people, including 132 students and 17 staff members, and injuring many more.

Following this horrific event, the government devised the National Action Plan (NAP) to eradicate terrorism from the country.

Across the country, various activities and functions will be performed to commemorate the sacrifices of innocent children.

In a Twitter message, PTI leader Shireen Mazari said “

What can one say – we have failed our children; terrorism continues from across our int borders & from within; we lost half our country but have learnt no lessons. State & society increasingly militarised & polarised so unwilling 2 realize our strength is our ppl & their diversity”
