A seven-year-old boy was gang-sodomised before being murdered in cold blood by a group of men in Bahawalnagar’s Chistian district.

Asif*, a resident of Moza Soda Basti, went missing yesterday evening, a day after which locals found his body dumped in the fields.

According to reports, the body was sent for post-mortem examination which revealed that the 7-year-old was killed after being brutally raped. A police official Sahar Fareed said an FIR had been lodged against four suspects of whom three have been arrested.

“Four individuals were involved in the crime and three of them namely Ayaz, Mujeebur Rehman and Ayaz have been arrested. Police officials are still looking for Asad who managed to escape from the scene,” SHO Jam Mazoor said.

“The suspects belonged to rich families and were drunk when they kidnapped the child and took him to their dera where they raped him. The men then used a rope to kill Asif*.”

On December 26, police arrested six people accused of involvement in the gang-rape of a teenage girl in Lahore. The 15-year-old survivor had left for a tailor’s shop near her house when she went missing, the complainant said.
