A 5.2 magnitude earthquake shook regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Monday morning, as confirmed by the National Seismic Monitoring Centre. Recorded at 9:35 a.m., the quake’s epicentre was identified in Afghanistan’s Hindu Kush region, with a depth of 184 kilometres.
However, the US Geological Survey (USGS) noted a magnitude of 4.8, placing the epicentre 47km east of Farkhar, an Afghan city. Areas including Nowshera, Swat, Malakand, and others experienced the tremors.
Thankfully, no damages or casualties have been reported. Notably, a 5.8 magnitude quake hit parts of Punjab and KP earlier this month, with effects felt as far as the Indian capital.
