The Henley Passport Index has released its 2024 rankings for the world’s most powerful passports, with Singapore claiming the top spot by offering visa-free access to 195 countries. Based on data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the index ranks passports by the number of destinations their holders can access without a prior visa.
Pakistan’s passport ranks 100th, allowing holders visa-free entry to 33 countries. This contrasts sharply with India’s passport, which is 82nd and permits visa-free entry to 58 countries, tying with nations such as Senegal and Tajikistan.

Singapore, France, Italy, Germany, Spain, and Japan share the second rank, providing their passport holders access to 192 countries. Austria, Finland, Ireland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, South Korea, and Sweden hold the third position, each allowing entry to 191 destinations.
The fourth rank includes the United Kingdom, New Zealand, Norway, Belgium, Denmark, and Switzerland, while Australia and Portugal share the fifth rank. The United States has dropped to the eighth position, with its passport holders able to visit 186 countries without needing a visa.
Afghanistan remains at the bottom of the list, offering its citizens easy access to only 26 destinations.
