The paramilitary Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan carried out operation against terrorists in different parts of Balochistan and killed at least nine terrorists.
Two FC soldiers were also martyred in encounter with militants during a search operation.
Officials said security operation carried out an intelligence-driven operation near Turbat area.
An exchange of fire took place between militants and FC personnel, leaving eight militants dead and two personnel of FC martyred, said FC spokesman.
He said that the area has been cleared of militants.
The spokesman further said FC launched the search operation in the area after some armed men abducted activists of political parties.
In another operation, an alleged militant commander was killed in exchange of fire between security forces and militants in Bencha Sorab area of Kalat district Wednesday.
FC spokesman said the dead militant was commander of banned Baloch Liberation Front (BLF), adding that a sizeable cache of weapons was also recovered from the site.
In a separate action, Punjab’s Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) claimed to have killed five terrorists in an encounter in Dera Ghazi Khan.
Officials said the shootout between CTD force and terrorists took place late night on outskirts of Dera Ghazi Khan when police stopped a vehicle carrying the militants from Balochistan.
“They opened fire on police, and in retaliation police killed five terrorists while two managed to flee,” an official said, claiming that the terrorists were planning attack on Eid Milad processions.
“We later recovered hand grenades and weapons from the dead terrorists,” a CTD official claimed.
