The death toll from a suicide blast near the Wagah border crossing between Pakistan and India rose to 59 as more injured victims succumbed to their wounds on Monday.
Wagah border parade ground was opened for citizens to witness the flag-lowering ceremony. According to a Rangers spokesman, flag-lowering ceremony will boost the morale of the nation after the deadly bombing.
Corps Commander Lahore, DG Rangers and police officials are in attendance at the ceremony.
Despite the fatal attack, a large crowd — including women and children — are attending the ceremony.
