After a brief respite, target killers resurfaced again as unknown assailants opened fire on a car in Block 16 of Federal B Area killing Dr. Wahid-ur-Rehman, the assistant professor of the University of Karachi, earlier today.
Wahid-ur-Rehman was an assistant professor at the Mass Communication department of the Karachi University.
According to details, unknown men (popularly referred to by their euphemism “Namaloom Afraad” in Karachi) opened fire on a car bearing registration number AEQ-421 near Institute of Heart Diseases near Water Pump area in Karachi.
The varsity will remain closed for two days.
In September last year, Dr Shakil Auj, the dean faculty of Islamic Studies at Karachi University, was also shot dead by unknown bike riders near Baitul Mukarram Mosque in Gulshan-e-Iqbal area.
Only a few days back fearless campaigner for human rights Sabeen Mehmood was gunned down in cold blood in front of her mother in Karachi’s posh Defense locality.
