Peshawar: Polling for Local Body elections in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) began at 8am on Saturday and will continue till 5pm
Over 84,420 candidates are contesting for 41,762 seats in local bodies elections. Over 13 million registered voters in KPK comprise 7,494,000 male voters and 5,638,000 female voters are electing their representatives.
According to Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) authorities, approximately 11,200 polling stations have been set up across the province, out of which, 2,837 have been declared highly sensitive.
According to KPK govt sources for the security arrangements during the elections additional funds have have released for police.
For the election process, KPK Ministry of Education announced holiday on May 29 and 30 in education institutions.
