PML-N clinch first position as ECP issues official results for LG election in Swat

Swat: The Election Commission of Pakistan has issued official results of the successful candidates of the districts and tehsil councils of Swat.

Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) and Pakistan Tahrik- e- Insaf (PTI) shared 22 seats each in the district council while 11 independent candidates were declared successful. However, PML-N took first position in district council Swat after. Four district council members won as independent capacity, has joined PMLN, raising its total members in the district council to 26.

The Awami National Party (ANP) has grabbed eight, JUI-F two, Jumaat- e- Islami one and PPP one seats of the district council respectively. The remaining seven independents have yet to decide about the joining of a political party.

On 67 seats of the seven tehsil of Swat, PTI has clinched 24, PMLN 10, ANP 12, JUI-F 6, JI 7, while PPP, QWP and PKMAP shared one seat each respectively. Four independent candidates were also declared successful on tehsil council seats.
