Islamabad: Former Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) Chief Lt. General (retd) Hameed Gul has claimed that al-Qaeda Chief Osama bin Laden died in 2005 and not in the US Navy Seals raid in Abbottabad.

“In my opinion Osama was not there (Abbottabad). He died a natural death in 2005,” Hameed Gul told Saleem Safi during his interview on Geo News programme ‘Jirga’.

The former ISI chief added that the truth would come out about the 2 May, 2011 Aboottabad raid.

During the interview Hameed Gul also said those who sheltered Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain will be questioned.

Hameed Gul also told Saleem Safi that he could not call Altaf Hussain an agent. He went on to say that he met the MQM chief in London in 1992, adding that

Altaf told him that he used to acquire the visas for MQM leaders Amir Khan and Afaq Ahmed.

According to Gul, Altaf also told him that the US counselor used to come to him and they used to sell visas in about Rs 200,000.

Speaking regarding former President General (retd) Pervez Musharraf, Gul said that he has inflicted the most damage to Pakistan.

He went on to say that Musharraf double crossed the US as he deviated from the Kashmir policy. Gul added that Musharraf also pushed into the back burner the Afghanistan issue.
