Karachi is completely lock-down on Thursday as Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) called a “Day of Mourning” over Karachi Polices’ killing of its worker.
All Private schools, transport operators and traders associations have announced to suspend their activities for a day on the call of Karachi’s largest political party.
President of Private Schools Associations (PAS) also in support kept their schools closed for a day.
Karachi Transport Ittehad, a private body of city transporters, also didn’t bring their vehicles on roads.
In addition, Karachi Tajir Ittehad (KTI) also kept their shutters down for the day.
IN other cities of Sindh, shutter-down strike was also observed in Sukkur, Mirpurkhas, Nawabshah, Sangarh, Shahdadpur, Tando Adam and Shahpur Chakar.
Yesterday, MQM activist was found dead in Mochko area of Karachi on Wednesday, triggering tension in parts of the city.
