Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Rabita Committee has condemned the recent arrests of party workers and raids on their houses in Karachi.
In a statement, the Rabita Committee issued details of 19 workers and office-bearers who have been arrested by police and Rangers.
“Privacy and sanctity of homes is being violated through undue and unjustified raids on houses of our workers and supporters under the pretext of Karachi operation. This act should immediately stop and we demand that Prime Minister and Interior Minister take notice of this situation,” MQM said in a statement.
MQM said law-enforcers have arrested party workers during raids in Burns Road, Orangi Town, Lines Area, Ranchor Line, PIB Colony, New Karachi, North Karachi and Nazimabad areas.
“Media trial of MQM is being carried out. Our political, democratic and human rights are being violated… but raids, fake cases and arrests can’t deter our courage” added the press release.
