The day of mourning is being observed across Sindh including Karachi on call of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).
Earlier on Saturday, MQM Rabita Committee in a statement issued announced “On Sunday, the MQM will mourn the victims of terrorism and its workers, who were recently murdered in cold blood,”
The MQM demanded of the provincial government for a judicial inquiry on killing of MQM worker in police custody.
The statement Further said “We condemn the custodial killing of Faraz Alam, a worker from Orangi Town and the broad daylight murder of Nadeem Ahmed at the hands of religious extremists,”
Business Community, trade organizations also announced their support to the MQM’s call for mourning day, vowing to keep all business centers and commercial hubs closed today to express solidarity with the party over the killings of their activists.
Similarly, transporters has also endorsed the Muttahida’s call, pulling public transport off roads. Also, private vehicles are far less than the usual routine.
