Military air strikes in North Waziristan Agency (NWA) have killed at least 19 terrorists and eight others in the volatile region in an ongoing operation Zarb-e-Azb, on Tuesday.
Sources said those killed in the attack included a senior commander of militants.
Air strikes, artillery, mortars and ground troops have all been used to retake the rugged mountainous territory, which had become a haven for militants of all stripes — including Al-Qaeda and the homegrown Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) as well as foreign fighters including Uzbeks.
