Amir Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), Sirajul Haq, has said the federation would be in danger if country was deprived of the Constitution as a result of political crisis.
“Real protectors of the country are masses, not weapons or institutions,” he said while speaking to media persons in Islamabad following a conference of political parties held under JI auspices.
Haq claimed that the government accepted most of the demands made by PTI and PAT leaders and even allowed them to hold sit-in,“ but now inflexibility from both sides is worsening the situation.”
He urged both the sides to show patience and hold talks to overcome the crisis.
Although, he said, JI was not satisfied with style of governance of the Prime Minister, the change should be brought through “democratic and constitutional means”.
“Everybody is upset with the violence which has hit our economy hard… National leadership should come forward to lead the nation rather than creating scene and anarchy,” he said.
