Rumours died down today when chief of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), retired-cricketer-turned-political demagogue Imran Khan, finally tied the knot with Reham Khan at a simple ceremony in Islamabad today.
Nikah khawan Mufti Saeed arrived at Khan’s Bani Gala residence to solemnize the nikah.
Khan is kept his nikah and valima ceremony strictly private and simple in the wake of Peshawar school tragedy. The local media has reported that a simple valima ceremony is due tomorrow.
The event of nikah and valima would be a solely private gathering. It would be joined by Khan’s close aides and relatives in Islamabad, according to sources.
“No invite for the event is going to be issued to anyone,” PTI spokesperson, Shireen Mazari said.
Sources said media persons would not be allowed in the valima ceremony, instead only pictures of wedding and nikah would be released to the media.
A London-based newspaper broke the news that Imran Khan has tied the knot with a news anchor, 41-year-old Reham Khan.
Initially Imran Khan had denied reports of his impending remarriage.
