The army Chief General Raheel Sharif is reviewing the Shawal area of North Waziristan to review the ongoing military operation after launch of an all out ground offensive against the militants last year.
According to DG Inter Services Public Relations Major General Asim Bajwa early morning today, the army chief will also meet front line combat troops engaged in fighting against militants.
After heavy air strikes by the armed forces’ air assets, the military finally announced the launch of a ground offensive against the local and foreign militants in the remote and mountainous Shawal Valley of North Waziristan last Thursday. Supposedly, the last redoubt of terror in NWA.
Chief of Army Staff frequently visit the troops in the tribal areas and review the progress on the ongoing military operation Zarb-e-Azb.
