Federal, Provincial government announce Iqbal Day holiday

Federal and provincial government has public holiday on November 9. 

All public and private schools will remain closed on Wednesday, November 9 on account of Iqbal Day.

Sindh government has announcement Iqbal day holiday following the federal government and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) government announced a public holiday on November 9.

The Federal and other provinces decision came after PTI chief Imran Khan advised KPK Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak to declare public holiday on Iqbal Day.

The PTI chief said he was not in favour of too many holidays, but Iqbal Day is different from other days as “Iqbal’s thought embodies the ideology of Pakistan

Last year, the federal government abolished the public holiday on Iqbal Day. However, despite the federal government’s order, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) government announced a public holiday on November 9 on account of Iqbal Day.
