The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Lahore has foiled a major terror bid late Sunday and killed two suspected terrorists belonging to a banned outfit.
According to the CTD officials, upon an intelligence reports about the presence of four members of a banned terrorist organisation entering Lahore and planning to attack sensitive installations, the CTD personnel signaled to stopped motorcyclists near Saggian Bride they opened fire on the CTD personnel.
In the retaliatory firing by CTD personnel killed two terrorists, however, two of their accomplices managed to escape, the CTD said.
Explosives, detonators, primacords, Kalashnikov, pistol, and other arms were seized from the possession of the slain suspects.
“A search operation is under way to find the terrorists who fled,” a CTD spokesperson said.
