COAS approves increasing military courts in Karachi

Karachi: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif has approved increasing the number of military courts in Karachi to handle outstanding terrorism cases.

The COAS lauded the efforts of intelligence agencies, Rangers paramilitary force as well as that of the police in controlling the law and order situation in Karachi. The Army Chief specially commended the support of the people of Karachi.

The COAS after being briefed on the latest security situation at the Corps V headquarters, said the operation in Karachi will continue to eliminate terrorists, criminals and mafias from the metropolis.

He issued directives to break the nexus between terrorists, criminal mafias and corruption in order to ensure a peaceful and terror free Karachi.

The COAS handed over equipment worth Rs. 65 million to the Karachi Police which has also been given training to enhance the capacity and capability of the police force.
