Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Mian Saqib Nisar took suo motu notice of Tayyaba torture case.
The Chief Justice has taken the notice following the media reports and directed Registrar Islamabad High Court to file a report of the case within 24 hours.
The statement issued by Public Relations Officer of the apex court Shahid Hussain Kamboyo stated “The Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan Mr. Justice Mian Saqib Nisar has taken notice of torture on minor maid servant working in the house of Additional District & Sessions Judge, Islamabad, Raja Khurram Ali Khan. Notice was taken on media reports that the minor maid servant was allegedly beaten up brutally and she was given stoke with ladle and her hands were burnt and reportedly matter has been patched up and compromised,”
“Taking the cognizance of issue of alleged maltreatment and subsequently reported patch up and compromise, the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan has ordered to call a detailed report from Registrar, Islamabad High Court, Islamabad within 24 hours.
According to media reports, the family of a minor girl, who was tortured by a sitting Additional District and Session Judge East, Islamabad, had reached an agreement with the abuser and pardoned him.
The parents of ten-year-old Tayyaba filed an affidavit with the court informing that they have pardoned the accused in the name of Allah without any pressure.
The father stated that he himself investigated the matter and found that the case had been filed with wrong and baseless information and that he has no reservation if the man is released on bail.
