Safoora Goth bus carnage’s indoctrinator as well as the financier has been apprehended by Karachi Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of the police.

According to SSP Naveed Khawaja, the chief of Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) claimed that a suspect, identified as Shabbir Ahmed has been arrested from Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Karachi.

Khawaja, also claimed that another suspect identified as Hassan Zaheer was arrested from Lahore which led the police to Ahmed.

“Zaheer pointed towards the Dubai-based financier, a bachelor of science having ties with Tanzeem-ul-Islami,” Khawaja added.

The SSP CTD said that suspect arrived in Pakistan from Dubai just a day ahead of Safoora Goth massacre.

“The suspect was also the ‘monetary link’ between the foreign and local terror groups,” SSP disclosed.

Shabbir Ahmed was not only in contact with the Daish (Islamic State of Iraq & Syria) but was also siphoning money into the war chests of the Afghan Taliban.

At least 48 people were killed and 13 others wounded in May when armed men opened fire inside a bus carrying members of the Ismaili community near Safoora Chowk in Karachi
