The Prime Minister of Republic of Belarus, Andrei Kobyakov, arrived in Islamabad earlier today. He is on a two-day official visit to cement bilateral ties with Pakistan.

A red carpet was rolled out for the dignitary as he landed at Nur Khan Airbase along with a high level delegation. The visiting dignitary was welcomed by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and was presented with a guard of honour. Smartly-turned out static guards of the Pakistan Air Force presented salute to the prime minister. Clad in traditional dress a boy also presented a bouquet to the guest.

This is the first ever visit of any Belarusian prime minister to Pakistan.

The Belarusian Prime Minister is scheduled to hold official talks with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, who will also host a lunch in his honour.

Several important agreements and memorandums of understanding are also expected to be signed between the two countries to strengthen bilateral ties in various fields.

President Mamoon Hussain will host a banquet in honour of the Belarusian premier.

The visit also features a Third Pakistan-Belarus Business and Investment Forum scheduled to be held today.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif visited Belarus in August this year while Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko paid a state visit to Pakistan in May this year.
