Calling for the closure of Jamia Hafsa, a seminary controlled by Islamabad’s Lal Masjid, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain yesterday, demanded of the government to arrest Maulana Abdul Aziz, the leader of the terrorist mosque.
“Lal Masjid should be either demolished or burnt down for preaching terrorism,” Hussain said tele-addressing a massive MQM rally staged to show solidarity with armed forces of Pakistan and the innocent victims of Peshawar school massacre at the hands of Taliban militants.
Earlier, Aziz, called an army offensive against the Taliban “un-Islamic” and said the militants’ massacre of 133 children was in retaliation for air strikes against them.
The MQM leader likened Lal Masjid to Masjid al-Dirar (Mosque of Dissent), which was built by the Munafiqs (hypocrites) in Madina Munawara with ulterior motives. After a revelation about the hypocrisy and ill design of the builders of the mosque, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) ordered his followers to burn it down.
Aziz told worshippers at the Lal Masjid “O rulers, O people in power, if you will commit such acts, there will be a reaction,” he said while blatently declaring his support for the most blood thirsty terror outfit in the world the ISIL.
In the wake of the Peshawar attack the army has pledged to redouble its efforts to wipe out the scourge of militancy, but Aziz condemned their struggle.
“This operation in the North Waziristan is un-Islamic,” he said.
