The alleged abduction of a Sindh High Court Advocate Ibrahim Abro took a turn when Inspector General (IG) of Sindh Police A.D. Khawaja revealed that he was arrested by its officials and not abducted.
A.D. Khawaja revealed tha Abro was arrested on Wednesday as he was involved in several mugging attempts outside banks in Karachi. He used to loot money from the people leaving banks in the city after withdrawing money.
Khawaja claimed that “Advocate Ibrahim Abro is an active member of a group which has been involved in many bank robberies in Karachi. We also have closed-circuit television camera (CCTV) footages as evidence to support our claim,” added A.D. Khawaja.
Rumours of Abro’s reported abduction made headlines on Wednesday and triggered agitation amongst the lawyers when the high-profile abduction case of Owais Shah, son of Chief justice of Sindh High Court has already not been solved.
Lawyers’ fraternity in Sindh staged a protest after the news that he has been abducted was aired by local television channels.
IG Sindh Police A.D. Khawaja has urged the lawyers in Sindh to disown Advocate Ibrahim Abro since they are now fully aware of his illegal activities in the metropolis.
