The Ministry of Interior submitted province-wise details of loss caused due to terrorism from 2008 to 2012 in the National Assembly today (Friday).
The House was informed that nine thousand six hundred and thirty nine people lost their lives while twenty four thousand six hundred and ninety nine people sustained injuries in terror related incidents during five years.
Most of the damage was caused in Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) and Khyber Pakhutnkhwa whereas Azad Kashmir was declared most peaceful place.
Between 2008-2012, 947 people were killed and 3061 injured in Punjab, 335 killed and 1347 wounded in Sindh, 3236 killed and 8721 injured in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa whereas 1124 people lost their lives and 3770 sustained injuries in Balochistan.
Moreover the reports stated, terrorists claimed 14 lives and injured 66 people in Azad Kashmir, 128 people were killed and 334 injured in Islamabad while 60 were killed and 84 sustained injuries in Gilgit Baltistan during these five years.
