Former president Asif Ali Zardari on Saturday reached Lahore and met with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for a luncheon at the Sharif’s Raiwind residence on Saturday.
According to sources, former president advised Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to avoid restraint in dealing with the protests led by the PTI and PAT.
Asif Ali Zardari also advised the Prime Minister to stop strong worded statements by his ministers. Moreover, a flexible attitude being adopted by the government in talks with the protesting opposition parties.
He also proposed a high level commission to inquire into the Model Town firing incident in Lahore, which claimed 14 lives of PAT workers and around 75 persons were injured in the incident.
Zardari also advised Nawaz Sharif not to tender resignation as premier of the country, sources said.
