YouTuber MrBeast has been implicated in a lawsuit over alleged harassment and exploitation of contestants on his reality show.
The lawsuit, filed in a Los Angeles court, claims contestants faced unfair treatment and sexual harassment during the show, touted as the world’s largest live game show with a $5 million prize. The complaint also states that participants were not compensated fairly, lacking proper wages, meal breaks, and adequate rest.
The plaintiffs, identified only as Contestants 1-5, have taken legal action against Amazon Alternative LLC and MrBeast’s production company, MRB2024 LLC. They seek overdue wage payments, a court order to prevent further alleged labour violations, and class-action status for their lawsuit.
The lawsuit charges that the production companies and Amazon grossly exploited the contestants’ labour for the upcoming $100 million MrBeast-Amazon project “Beast Games.” It describes the show’s entertainment value as deriving directly from the intense physical and emotional efforts of contestants vying for life-altering rewards under extreme conditions.
